I feel that athletes should not be the main role model in children's life's. I think that the parents of the child are the most important people to influence the child and should be the child's biggest role model. But no matter what sport figures are going to be looked at as role models for children. And even if they don't want to be looked at this way I personally think that they should act accordingly. I think players should be conscious of this and try to provide a good image for kids because many kids will try to play the game just like their role models

I agree. I feel that the close family members to a child are the most important role models, especially at such age and as they are young and impressionable especially. Athletes will inevitably have an impact on younger children/young adults as they have skills and lifestyles that are more often than not glamorous and many people desire them. Athletes should act in a way that would not create bad influences on kids but enforce good morals.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with this comment and I think that it is very important to play along even if an athlete does not want to be a role model. I think that as a society we should be willing to help others and provide support for our future generations. Enforcing good morals is also very important and I agree that children are always watching and pick up on everything.
ReplyDeleteYou make a good point, but paretns will alwyas be a childs largest role model. it is the other role models that children have in their lives that shoudl be focused on, or the paretns shoudl focus on the things they do. becasue no matter what parents will influence their children, just becasue they look up to an athelte doesnt mean that the paretns influence compeltly disapears. paretns focus on yourself and atheltes should as well becasue kids will obsorb everything.
